Alan Grindstaff began his employment with the City of Marlin in February of 2017. He joins our team with 30 years of successful experience managing all operations of several full service cities within states such as Texas, Georgia and Utah.
His experience includes financial analysis, program management, development, human resources, safety and evaluation, strategic planning, utility operations, emergency operations, economic development, planning and growth and mentoring and motivating personnel.
Throughout his career, he has made financial improvements for entities in regards to reducing cost of liability insurance, reducing cost of ambulance service, upgrade to 911 system, backup and protection systems, seal coat of streets to reduce maintenance cost, performance evaluation program, comprehensive plan, master transportation plan, reduced workman’s comp., reduced overtime and employee turnover.
Mr. Grindstaff was a Major in the United States Army Reserve for 26 years and was responsible for directing all medical operations on Special Forces Team. In addition, he served as Commander of Medical Group, Medical Supply Officer, Movement Readiness Officer, Operations Officer in Medical Brigade, and Director of patient Administration Division.
Alan hold a Masters of Public Administration from Brigham Young University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Utah. His is a member of the Brigham Young University George W. Romney Institute of Public Management alumni as well as an Eagle Scout.
